Meet the Team

Dr. Aaron “Nick” Hemlepp
He / Him

Dr. Aaron “Nick” Hemlepp is an Appalachia native who started in Eastern Kentucky. After trying multiple paths at multiple schools, Nick fell in love with therapy and has completed his education with a Doctorate of Social Work (DSW). He is an independently licensed social worker (LICSW) in West Virginia, where he owns and runs Under Pressure Therapy.

"If I wanted my patients to know something, it would be that sometimes therapy sucks. It hurts, and it’s a transformative process. However, it’s like training at a gym. You use the mental muscles you have never used before, and they will strengthen. You can work through this, and you are bigger than your problems. Standing up to your mental illness, stressful situation, or chapter of life is the bravest thing someone can do. I would be honored to stand by your side as you face these problems."

Dr. Nick focuses on adults and couples in his care. He works with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Narrative therapy. He works from a trauma-informed perspective, which works great for patients from all walks of life and presenting problems.

"I enjoy all my patients. However, I am especially interested in Medical Providers (From the Truck to the Office to the Hospital!). I have a specialty certificate in Military Families. I also work with First Responders. I am specialty trained to work with trauma patients. With almost a decade of experience in providing healthcare, I am called to help and have the experience to be effective."
